Mission
Our mission is to enrich the community, support artists, and contribute to the revitalization of Wilmington by preserving its commercial landmarks. We aim to increase opportunities for artists by providing spaces to create, display and sell various forms of art, thereby fostering Wilmington as an international art destination.
About Us
theArtWorks™, which includes an Art Village with 50+ working studios, as an international art destination, provides a creative environment for artists, educational opportunities, and enhances the community through art.
The 7K square feet gallery gives artists a place to show their work, the community an opportunity to admire and purchase fine art, and a venue to host private events. Studios are tailored to resident artists' needs. Also available to artists and the community are meeting rooms and a classroom.
HISTORY
The building we’re located in once housed the thriving Block Shirt factory, then the manufacturing of plastic plumbing, and most recently antique cars. Now, this historic building is fast becoming one of Wilmington, North Carolina's premier art destinations. Follow us and watch the transformation.
